Mecaro CEO speaks on the design of the Spiral Magnus Wind Turbine

Nov. 11, 2008 · The Spiral Magnus Wind Turbine, developed by Mecaro, employs the Magnus Effect: lift generated by spinning cylinders in a wind stream. The result is a wind turbine that achieves higher efficiencies in lower wind speeds than traditional wind turbines. The lower operating speeds make it noiseless and non-threatening to migrating birds.

Nobuhhiro Murakami, the CEO of Mecaro, will speak on the design of the Spiral Magnus Wind Turbine at Northwestern on November 20, 2008 from 3:00-4:00 PM in Tech M345.
