Design Content within a Design Context
The MaDE degree and the Design Certificate programs are both great. What was most meaningful was the abundance of opportunities to apply both our knowledge from other classes as well as our creativity into a final product we actually got to hold and deliver. In these classes, we also learn to improve our presentation skills.

Interdisciplinary Approach
Engineering Design and Communication (EDC): Segal's Foundation Design Course
Student teams work with real clients to solve real problems. All engineering majors participate in EDC, where they learn design thinking, problem framing, communication, and multidisciplinary problem solving. EDC is co-sponsored and co-taught by the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences Writing Program.
Design Credentials Offered
The Certificate in Engineering Design can be combined with any McCormick undergraduate degree. The certificate program focuses on innovative enginnering design in a team-based, cross-disciplinary setting.
The BS degree in Manufacturing and Design Engineering (MaDE) educates engineers in all aspects of product realization from product design to manufacturing technologies and operations. Students learn to integrate various design and manufacturing processes into an effective system.
